Let me tell you some incidents which increased hatred between Dhoni and Sehwag:

One day Dhoni was drinking water from a bottle and Sehwag snatched the bottle and ran away.
Once Sehwag went to a party with his wife and Dhoni spilled a cold drink on Sehwag's brand new white shirt (intentionally).
Once Dhoni was getting ready for a practise session but he was not able to find his Spartan bat anywhere. Later he found Sehwag practising using the same bat.
Whenever Sehwag got out for a duck, Dhoni gifted him an egg to tease him.
Once Sehwag prepared tea for Dhoni and intentionally added seven sugar cubes (Dhoni's favourite number) to make it over sweet.
Once Dhoni borrowed Sehwag's motor bike and never returned it back to him.
Whenever Dhoni and Sehwag used to bat together, both of them tried to run each other out.

All these incidents are fake.!

Sehwag requested Dhoni to visit his school as a Chief Guest and Dhoni agreed to pay a visit to the school without thinking twice. He not only delivered a speech but also gave the students batting and wicket-keeping tips.

This is their true friendship. There are many stories which say that they are rivals but actually they are very good friends. Dhoni and Sehwag are two of the best cricket players in the world and we all know that there are always a few rumours about great people. We need not to take these rumours seriously.

So the answer to the question is:

“No. A person cannot destroy his friend's career.”
