Will India win the World Cup 2019 without MS Dhoni?

“Dhoni made sure to make every senior out of the national team and now when his turn came up, he is silent.”
~some irrational and half-knowledgable countrymen.

Okay, calm down, let’s first talk about how legends like Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, etc. were forced to move out of national side in their last phase.
a) Sourav Ganguly
Oh! we all really know the contribution of this legend and his aggressive nature. I don’t think I really need to show off them anyways. And, hardly are their haters in this country. Isn’t it? We all love dada.
So, lets straight away talk about his last phase of career.
  • 2007, as new captain’s heroic were already shining, we really don’t had the need of a captain. Thus, his only role was of a batsmen, a fielder and obviously, we can’t deny that his presence was enough in the dressing room.
  • Now arises the problem of dada being in the team. His fitness was not helping him out to contribute either as a fielder or as a batsman. Moreover, we didn’t had the problem of an opener, as Sehwag and Gambhir were already touching the heights of career. Yuvi was really good at no. 4. While, young captain was already there to finish along with newly talented raina.
  • So, it was quite clear that dada contribution was merely turning to be zero.
b) Yuvraj Singh
  • After the cancer, he tried and made a great comeback against New Zealand in 2012. But, lets talk about his contribution too.
  • His contribution was of a great fielder, an attacking middle order batsman and ofcourse, who can forget him as a part time-spinner.
  • So, what really started happening after 2014. Yes, his fitness. It became a great problem to Indian side. He hardly contributed with the bat and about the bowl, well it was never so acknowledged though it came handy umpteen times. Moreover, players like Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Manish Pandey, etc. were already in the queue to fill his boots, be it a position of No.4 (or 5) or a great fielder.
c) Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir.
  • I would call them a bit unlucky as they could have continued their career a bit more.
  • The destructive openers had a contibution of an opening batsmen and a fielder. Obviously, their fitness (especially of Sehwag) were a matter of talk as they were slow as fielders but they were still contributing with the bat.
  • The problem started arising after 2012, when both didn’t have a great year with the bat and Dhoni started looking for a side option. Unluckily (not for Indian side but for these two openers), Shikhar Dhawan (who was struggling to get his place in the team from many years, despite his great performance) was given a chance and guess what, he proved it. Moreover, dhoni’s experiment of making Rohit open the innings, worked too. Be it Champions trophy or the famous Australian ODI series of 2013.
  • Thus, both of their requirement became lesser and lesser in the Indian side.
d) Harbhajan Singh
  • Do I need to justify him? Obviously he is a legend, he came many a times handy when Indian side needed him.
  • But, what’s the role of spinner in the team? You take wickets and you can continue in the team. And, if you can bat, that’s really good. Same goes for bhajji too, Bhajji didn’t work, Ashwin was in and now Kuldeep has almost made his place replacing Ravichandran.

Now, talking about our mighty captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
I witnessed the above legends requirements on the basis of Contribution and fitness. I won’t be bias and I’ll talk same about MS.
He has multiple contributions in the team:
  • As a batsmen: No doubt, he is failing with the bat. And, there are many who can replace him. Because, due to MS, atleast one out of Manish Pandey, Dinesh Kartik, Kedar Jadhav, Rishabh pant has to be on bench. And, they all are in better form than MS.
  • As a wicketkeeper: Pant can keep very well, he is not somebody like KL Rahul who really need to learn basics. But, can Pant replace wicketkeeper Dhoni? A big no. Does, a wicketkeeper has that much big role in team? A big Yes. And, India has a great advantage over other teams when Dhoni is behind the stumps. Because, he is the one who give 9/10 DRS reviews correct. He is the one who guide Kuldeep, chahal, Jaddu to bowl those right delieveries. So, you can easily see that he is performing many roles in the disguise of a wicketkeeper.
  • An unofficial captain: No matter, how much he failed as a batsmen, he never failed with his decisions, the entire world knows that.
Now, talking about his replacement. Only, DK and Pant can do that. But the question arises here. Are pant and DK enough self-sufficient to replace MS when we are talking about the biggest tournament of cricket? No, a complete no.
I don’t think they can stand behind the stumps, read the batsmen mind and ask the bowlers to bowl in the right places. Even, I don’t expect that Virat kohli will seek any type of advice from young Rishab Pant.
And talking about the poor form of batsman Dhoni. Mind you, its never age which counts in sports, its always fitness. Dhoni is really fit. I am sure he will reply as a batsman too.

So, talking about the question.
Will India win the world cup 2019 without MS Dhoni?
Its same as imagining world cup 2011 without Sachin.

Is Dinesh Karthik the father of Murali Vijay's son?

Is dinesh karthik the father of Murali Vijay's son? While Dinesh’s wife was expecting when he divorced her, the child is in fact Murali’s. As of now, Murali’s wife has 3 kids, when the 3rd one was born an article from “The Indian Express” said this: “Vijay has two more children – a son and a daughter – with Nikita, who he married in 2012” with   Nikita. That solves the mystery. Finding your own teammate having an outside romance with your wife must have been pretty difficult to bear. Happy that Dinesh moved on and is happy with his current wife Dipika Pallikal. Source:   Murali Vijay, wife Nikita welcome third child, see pic

What is the difference between Dhoni's captaincy and Kohli's captaincy?

"Not everyone is Pujara here" "It's not easy to survive man" "Come on Pat, hit some sixes" "Come on Pat - you’re not putting the bad ball away" “We have got a special guest here. Have you heard the word temporary captain ever? ” This was Rishabh Pant from behind the stumps in the ongoing Test series against Australia in 2018. A 21 year old who debuted in Test cricket this year. Sunil Gavaskar condemned his behaviour and was right in doing so— “Say anything you want to your teammates, not to the opposition.” After all, the game is called a “gentleman’s game” for a reason. You may think I am making a big deal out of a silly banter, but I’ll let Rahul Dravid explain why this behaviour is so wrong. In an interview, Rahul was asked if aggression was overrated. This was his reply— “In the end, it comes down to being authentic to who you are. I cringe at times when I read Virat’s statements. I don’t blame ...

Who was the first double hundred in ODI cricket?

This is a trick question if you wish to know the real answer, Belinda Clark was the first double ton maker in ODI, Sachin made the first in ODI for men. Here is a description of all double ton from men and which one is the best. I have written this before as well but i consider the first ODI double hundred by Sachin against South Africa to be the best one for multiple reasons. Since 70s when ODI started, no one scored a double hundred for almost 39 years, this was a mental barrier, Sachin broke that and was able to score 200* , once this was done, others knew that this could be done so essentially this double century helped others from mental aspect standpoint, batsmen started believing that its possible to score a double hundred in ODIs, since then we have 6 more double hundreds in ODIs and some credit must go to Sachin for starting this journey Sachin scored double ton against the attack of Steyn and Kallis which is not ordinary by any nature, he scored his runs ag...
