1. The goat sacrifice of 2008 One of the biggest controversies that stood against our former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni was the Goat sacrifice. No, not the GOAT but actual Goat sacrifice which sparked angered many sacred Indians. It was undoubtedly a dark tale in MSD’s glorious life till date. Way back in 2008, Dhoni celebrated India’s tri-series triumph in Australia in such a way that it angered the whole nation. Because we do not look up to our idol getting involved in such acts, Dhoni allegedly sacrificed a goat at a Ranchi Temple to celebrate the series win. Who has been the most overrated cricketers of all time?

Before I answer this. A few words about the other answers. Dhoni has an average of 50+ in ODIs and the highest test match batting average among all ASIAN wicketkeepers. Shahid Afridi has as many ODI Man of the match awards as Ricky Ponting. Don Bradman did play in a different time but it isn’t his fault that he played in a different era. And despite all the advantages he had, he also had to contend with uncovered pitches and smaller bats. The guy who averaged second in that era was Jack Hobbs at 56. If he was so overrated then why didn’t others average 99? Anyway the point is - These three and a few others like Boycott maybe a bit overhyped by some of their fans but they aren’t overrated.
